Ya'll know I like designing things that you can mount on your wall so I sliced off the back of this bad boy and added a french cleat.

Supports None needed! You could put a support on the back of the vase where the angle of the french cleat starts, but it bridges really easily. I didn't use supports and it turned out super clean as you can see in the photo above.

Scaling I wouldn't recommend scaling this one since the screw holes are designed specifically for #10-12 x 1-1/4 in screws. You may be able to scale it up slightly, just make sure you leave enough material for the head of the screw to grab onto.

Orientation The vase sits upright and the cleat should have the longer side facing down.
