Amtrak EMD AEM-7 0 Gauge modelkit
3D Printable O Gauge Model Kit — EMD AEM-7 The EMD AEM-7 is one of the most iconic electric locomotives in North American railroading history.
Developed in the late 1970s, it was derived from the Swedish SJ Rc4 design and built by Electro-Motive Division (EMD) for Amtrak to modernize its aging electric fleet.
Between 1979 and 1988, a total of 54 units were produced, serving not only Amtrak but also SEPTA and MARC.
Known for its reliability, efficiency, and distinctive boxy design, the AEM-7 became the backbone of Amtrak’s electrified services in the Northeast Corridor for over three decades — earning the affectionate nickname “toaster” among railfans.
