Hatch Your Own Baby Dinos!

Hatch Your Own Baby Dinos!

When I was a kid, one of my favorite toys was a little toy Velociraptor. Oh how I wanted to hold a baby Velociraptor like Dr. Grant in the first Jurassic Part. Well, hold onto your fossils. Our baby dinos are up! Introducing our exclusive lineup of 3D printable baby dinosaurs, featuring the Baby Velociraptor, the Baby Brachiosaurus, the Baby Parasaurolophus, and the Baby Triceratops. These aren't your garden-variety dino models; these prehistoric cuties come with some egg-citing special features! First off, let's talk about convenience. These little critters are designed to be print-in-place, which means you can bid farewell to the hassle of supports. Just like the seamless harmony of nature, these dinosaurs emerge from your 3D printer ready to explore their new world, with no assembly required. It's almost as magical as life finding a way, wouldn't you agree? But hold onto your butts, because the second feature is truly a spectacle to behold. Ever felt like you're being watched? Well, with these dinosaurs, you are! Thanks to a mesmerizing optical illusion, their eyes will follow you around the room, giving the eerie yet adorable impression that they're always keeping an eye on you. It's like they're saying, "I see you there, friend, and I'm ready for our next adventure!" - or they're going to eat you. (One or the other) Now, you might be wondering, "How do I embark on this prehistoric journey?" Simply head over to our thangs page, where for one week only, we're setting these baby dinosaurs free into the wild! You can download and print your own dinosaur companions at absolutely no cost. It's our little way of spreading some Jurassic joy and seeing just how far these dino darlings can roam in the digital wilderness. So, whether you're a seasoned paleontologist or a budding dinosaur whisperer, don't miss this chance to add some magic to your life. Who knows? Maybe your desk, bookshelf, or bedside table is the very landscape these creatures have been waiting to explore. After all, in the words of a certain beloved dinosaur saga, "Sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest changes." Happy printing, and may your new dino friends bring a touch of prehistoric wonder to your world! Ninja Kicking off TMNT with Raph

Ninja Kicking off TMNT with Raph

Hey everyone, the Ducktales series is still going on. However, when we watched Saturday morning cartoons we never only watched one show. So we have now added the Teenage Age Mutant Ninja Turtles! Here is Raphael, TMNT models will most likely be monthly. These turtle boys are designed to be multi-color and you don't need a multi-color printer to print them. They are made for 1/2 scale, however, the tolerances should be able to hold on to their keys shrinking them down. A little sanding may then be required We will be aiming to start overlapping some of the series and sets to create less mystery as to what's coming out. I'll have some new announcements coming up soon. At the speed and intensity I work at, it's really difficult to give dates but I am floating around discords all the time. So don't be afraid to tag me and hang out in the discord Pixel Hangout! Last week we did REALLY well on the leaderboard... for the first half of the week. Towards the end, we slowed down and allowed ourselves to get passed by. WE won't let that happen again right? To sustain the continued work speed I need to know you guys like these models. How and who do you share them with? If you share photos on other platforms, be sure to add your makes here. Our makes uploads are low despite our hundreds of downloads a week. As artists, we rarely get to see the appreciation of our work. Seeing posts, paint jobs, and everything you guys do without models. That's how we know we are doing a good job and warms our hearts to keep that creative engine running. We hear complaints or it's radio silence all the time. This is one of the reasons Sparkyface5 has started her ArtZaps (https://artzaps.com) project, to let artists know they are being seen. If you don't say something, we probably won't hear it. Check out her models at https://thangs.com/designer/sparkyface5 I need your help in this regard. Do we want more models? If so, share stories of your favorite cartoons in the discord. We have lots of designer friends in Discord and someone is bound to connect and get it made even if I can't. Get me excited about what you are excited about. Matt and I talk about TMNT all the time! We love it! As he is growing his new product line under Patenaude Prints with the new Characters, we have been going on and on about all the projects we have in store with our TMNT models. So check out Matt's website https://patenaudeprints.com to get news of his stuff there and his Thangs profile to check out his cool new models. https://thangs.com/patenaudeprints I would also like to share that our good friend Concrete Duck has just launched his multi-color bookmarks. They are freaking awesome and you can find him at https://thangs.com/designer/3deep If you love the Dragons, have you checked out Mimetic's Dragons? They are a little different as they click together to make them poseable, and un-click making them incredibly satisfying to play with. We are currently trying to work out some collab ideas too!A lot has happened this week, so we will be posting more regularly to keep you all updated. The website is almost complete with its migrations and we will get that back up to speed. Here we go! Stay tuned, and help us out on the leaderboards. Be sure to like and download the models! Follow us on socials, you know what to do. Lots of love to all of you who support us. We can't do all of this alone. Thank you so much, everyone. -Ryan

The Triplets are a go!

The Triplets are a go!

That's right, the triplets are done and released. Are you ready for more? Please show me your makes! The Leaderboards have now changed, and we have many more opportunities for collabs and exploration. This project is an awesome exploration of generations from Sparkyface5 classic version of these boys to the reboot here on Pixel and Plastic. Reboot Huey - https://than.gs/m/990662Reboot Dewey - https://than.gs/m/988316Reboot Louie -https://than.gs/m/987807Sparkyface5 Classic Huey - https://than.gs/m/990664Sparkyface5 Classic Dewey - https://than.gs/m/988286Sparkyface5 Classic Louie - https://than.gs/m/987823 I would love to see who could be the most creative and demonstrate the generations of all these characters. This series is such an awesome exploration and character bridging from the classics to the reboot and bridging into other shows like Darkwing and Rescue Rangers. *wink *wink. Have fun guys. The whole point of all of these if for us to share stories, make friends, and grow. So let's do that! Come chat in the discord: https://discord.pixelandplastic.com -Ryan

Whooh ooh!

Whooh ooh!

Every day they're out there making... Duck Tales! Our next study is finally getting finished. Louie is now available to our supporters; the rest are getting keyed up and test-printed and will be periodically released over the next two weeks! Yes! Exploring this story opens up so many avenues as this is one of the bigger cross-promoting storylines in the business. With ties to Tale Spin, and Darkwing Duck, this is an enjoyable one to explore and we have many directions we can take. Even possibly bringing it into our mini flyers series. These guys are getting keyed up in their primary colors, and are printing on Bambu quite well. If resin printing the line work is crisp and exaggerated. Super easy to paint and assemble. I really would love to start seeing your Duckberg setups and how much you guys love Ducktales as much as I do. Such a fun show, and the reboot was really good! But just to test and see the growth, this project is in collaboration with Sparkyface5 which is exploring the original series. Be sure to check her work out as we release these simultaneously to go together and you can truly see the growth of generations. Have fun with this one, cause we still are! Whooh ooh! -Ry

Night Before Christmas Poem by Clement Clarke Moore

Night Before Christmas Poem by Clement Clarke Moore

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the houseNot a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there; The children were nestled all snug in their beds; While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads; And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,Had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap, When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.Away to the window I flew like a flash,Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,Gave a lustre of midday to objects below,When what to my wondering eyes did appear,But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny rein-deer, With a little old driver so lively and quick,I knew in a moment he must be St. Nick.More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name: "Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now Prancer and Vixen! On, Comet! on, Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen! To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall! Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!" As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky;So up to the housetop the coursers they flewWith the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too— And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roofThe prancing and pawing of each little hoof.As I drew in my head, and was turning around,Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound. He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,And he looked like a pedler just opening his pack. His eyes—how they twinkled! his dimples, how merry! His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry! His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,And the beard on his chin was as white as the snow; The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,And the smoke, it encircled his head like a wreath; He had a broad face and a little round bellyThat shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly. He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;A wink of his eye and a twist of his headSoon gave me to know I had nothing to dread; He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,And laying his finger aside of his nose,And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose; He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,And away they all flew like the down of a thistle. But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight—“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!” Some Christmas Spirit Models: PixelandPlastic: St Nick, Not even a Mouse PatenaudePrints: Stockings hung by the Chimney with Care: Mrs Dog Stocking, Mr Dog Stocking, Mrs Panda Stocking, Mr Panda Stocking Sparkyface5: Open his pack: Christmas Joey Merry Christmas Everyone! Alright, here we go!

Alright, here we go!

Hi guys! As some or all of you know, the models we make are quite a bit different than most. This puts us at a slight disadvantage. The models made here are more involved, sometimes complex, and driven by pure fandom (not necessarily because we have any real deadlines or requirements), not only the nostalgia but in our original creations as well. If you wish to use the models to make money, want to help grow the platform, and discuss the vision I see (and have always seen) for the long term, we can have that conversation in the discord! Let me quickly put this down - A little historyI am a game designer and developer first. I have a foundation in programming and have studied art, history, and business to depths that most people have trouble grasping. I have 5 games currently in their final phases. They have been play-tested at events that I used to host before everyone became so isolated. I used to teach game development, animation, and modeling. In addition to Pixel and PlasticI run a video game studio called Never Sun Games. I have been making games for private events that were completely built around pure fun. I didn't have to worry about monetization. The games I was making thereafter were no longer fun and were being destroyed because of monetization. As I moved into the more indie field, it took over quickly. To get out of it, I started playing games—because it's kind of my thing.I would talk about my story, and what I have accomplished. In doing so, I found that not only did I not like making games with in-app purchases and ads, but nobody liked them in their games either. So the harder question. How can I continue to make a living without those? Toys. The answer was toys. I, and so many people, just like you, LOVE toys. We like buying toys, playing with toys, and exploring with our imagination. Everything. It's beautiful, so I dug in. Is this possible? At the time, sort of. But it was going to be expensive. Has it been done? ABSOLUTELY. For example, some of the bigger companies on the planet built everything without these tactics. Because they simply didn't exist. Well, here we go, I had a lot more studying to do to get into toys, and as rapidly and full-heartedly as I could, we were off to the races. Now, because of this dive, I have made some of my greatest friends ever. I had to learn what made toys great in the first place. Which just so happened to be, a story. The story made everything. It's how we connect, it's how we grow, it's how we develop intuition, it's how we make friends, it's how we build relationships. Everything. I have stories. Not half bad ones, if I may say so myself, but now they are just sitting there. For me to finish these games, they have to be able to make an income. I can do that, by licensing them to Pixel and Plastic. Make the toys, let everyone play the games, pure of heart, for free. This is the destination the ship is sailing towards. (Now quite a few ships - building a freaking armada here). NOW, I can. We can show everyone what the heck the point of all of this is. Not just a lonely artist making some pizza bucks (please don't get that wrong, I love pizza, send pizza money) - the ambition is grand, I know. But all the resources to do it are prepared and ready. Now it just needs to be done. There is so much to talk about, and how we can all work together and grow together is important to me. So connect in the discord, connect your discord account to your thangs account. How can we make this all grow? How can we make the world a little better with just a little pure imagination, just like when we were kids? Let's talk about it, talk to you soon!
