Three sizes of “Ice Bubbles” designed for spiralized printing to maximize translucency and minimize material and print time. These are great prints for your clear or translucent filaments!

See here for video: https://youtu.be/xJ5POHSJL1I

Files are provided for 30mm, 40mm, and 50mm diameter balls. You will need to print two pieces to make one ball. When printed with a 0.5mm nozzle, the balls require 3g, 5.4g, 8.4g of filament. That means 1kg of filament you could make approximately 333 small Ice Balls!

Here are some recommendations for spiralized printing:

  • Use thick layer heights, 0.2mm or greater
  • Set your “Bottom Layer” to 1
  • Try using a skirt for bed adhesion, but if that is not working then try a brim. You will just have to remove the brim afterwards
  • If you get funny stringing on the top layer, try moving the z-seam alignment around

Explore the exquisite collection of 3D models on Thangs.com, featuring "Ice Bubbles" designed by DaveMakesStuff. These models bring a touch of novelty to your home & garden decorations, incorporating a unique element of translucency due to spiralized printing methods. The design minimizes both print time and material consumption, making it an efficient choice for 3D printing enthusiasts. These models are especially attractive when printed with clear or translucent filaments, further enhancing their ice bubble visuals.

The ice bubbles come in three different sizes: 30mm, 40mm, and 50mm, each requiring two printed pieces to complete a single ball. With a 0.5mm nozzle, the balls require 3g, 5.4g, and 8.4g of filament respectively. This means that with a single 1kg filament roll, one can produce approximately 333 small Ice Balls, perfect for decorating your space or hosting a themed party!

It is recommended to use thick layer heights of 0.2mm or greater for spiralized printing. Customize your settings to a 'Bottom Layer' of 1. For bed adhesion, you may use a skirt, but a brim can be adopted if the skirt proves ineffective, with the brim being removable afterwards. If you encounter stringing on the top layer, try adjusting the z-seam alignment for better results. Utilize these unique 3D models to bring a cool aesthetic to your home and garden décor. Check the images to have a better understanding of the final product and achieve the best-printed output for these unique Ice Ball designs.
