WHO I designed this after my own hand – didn't get everything quite right, but it still looks like a human hand, so I'm proud of that!
WHAT It's a human hand in kind of a neutral pose. Includes the wrist with a bit of arm.
STL & 3MF files included
- mk1: Roughly 50% scale of my hand
- mk2: Slightly larger than my hand; arm shortened to fit my printer
Print settings: No supports; Print it with the fingers pointing up as in a raised hand or high five pose
WHERE Where can you use this? If you find it creepy, use it for Halloween decorations. If you find it artful, use it as decoration on your bookshelf!
WHEN When did I design this? End of July 2024. This is my first fully sculpted 3D print.
WHY Why did I make this? I was trying to practice sculpting. I started with a piece of fruit and it evolved into this!
HOW I sculpted this in Nomad Sculpt on the iPad. I spent way too long making adjustments trying to decide on a pose – it started out with more of a cupped hand pose (after it evolved from what was supposed to be a part of a fruit).
