Addon for my [Christmas Chain](https://than.gs/m/963853). Fun fidget toy you can spin around your fingers making tricks and impressing your imaginary friend! Print a Christmas Chain of appropriate length (I'm using length 14, it feels nice) and attach the **Ring** and **End** to the chain. Ready to spin!

Ringchaku Spinning Fidget Toy || Christmas Chain

This tree-shaped Advent Calendar is designed for spiralized printing to maximize translucency and minimize material and print time.

The “ornaments” are sized to hold standard-sized foil-wrapped chocolate balls (22mm or 7/8 inch diameter). Balls will hold in place on their own or can be enclosed with the “Snapball” pieces. The top of the tree holds a “Large Snapball” that can be filled with Smarties or M&Ms. Use translucent filament to make the treats visible! 

You will need to print one each of the “Trunk” and “Tree Layer” files, two each of the “Tree Topper Snapball” files, and 24 of the “Ornament Snapball” files. 

Here are some recommendations for spiralized printing:
- Use thick layer heights, 0.2mm or greater
- For “Tree Layer” files, set your “Bottom Layer” to “0” so that they print with an open bottom.
- The “Truck” can be printed with or without bottom layers, depending on whether or not you intend to put lighting underneath
- The “Snapball” files can be printed with “0” or “1” bottom layers. 
- Try using a skirt for bed adhesion, but if that is not working then try a brim. You will just have to remove the brim afterwards
- If you get funny stringing on the top layer, try moving the z-seam alignment around or adjusting the layer height slightly

**Printing**

- All parts can be printed without supports.
- Add brims if curling is an issue - especially the smaller pieces.
- Base and middle sections come in multicolor variants for multicolor printers.
- Use a filament swap to get 2 colors on penguin eyes.


**Assembly**

- Add eyes and beak to head section - add glue if these parts are loose.
- Thread TPU filament or similar thin elastic band from the penguin's head to base.
- Pull the band tight and tie the loop.
- Press the knot into the penguin base and trim any remaining cord.
- Optional: glue on hat
- Optional: glue on feet

This gift box has a twist lock that when opened, allows the box to collapse when the lid is lifted, revealing the gift inside.

After printing the box, carefully pry the hinges loose of any fused spots. You may need to wiggle the box walls for a while to loosen them enough for them to tip and fall easily on their own, especially if you're using a glitter filament. You can also try applying some silicone lubricant to the hinges to help things along.

Assembly is simple; push the lock cylinder through the lid from underneath and glue the bow into it on the top side. Careful not to spill the glue and glue everything to the lid! Rotate the lock so the blades point the corners, lift up the box walls and push in the lid. Then rotate the lock 45 degrees to lock the present.

The bow and lock has a hole for a string or ribbon if you want to hang it.

Collapsing Gift Box

These dual colour print-in-place twisty tubes can be used as puzzles or just fun fidget toys! Download includes two different patterns: “Alternating” and “Layered.”

The 90 degree “elbow” tubes are connected using a unique print-in-place pivot design in which the inner part of the pivot is printed on tiny built-in supports within the cavity of the neighbouring segment. Scroll through the layer mode on your slicer first to make sure that the supports will be printed. They show up as tiny blobs in the pivot cavity right before the inner pivot starts to print.

Tolerances in the pivot mechanism and between neighbouring segments are intentionally tight and you may get formation of some small adhesions. You will need to use a bit of force to break the inner pivot from the supports. Give the pivot a few twist under pressure to smooth out the left over supports in the pivot cavity.

Give the print plenty of time to cool. If you try to twist the segments apart while the plastic is still soft you risk breaking the neck. If you are getting too many adhesions, try lowering your extrusion rate. Use the “2 segment test print” to dial in your settings before printing a larger piece.

Dual Colour Twisty Tubes

Six strange pieces twist together to form a perfect Rhombicuboctahedron. It's a somewhat simple puzzle, but the abstract shapes, unique movements, and order of assembly might throw you off!

All parts print without supports, but there are some fairly steep overhangs. I printed at 0.12mm layer height, and 5 perimeters/shells, since there are some thin sections as well. No force is required for assembly!

The grey version shown in the photos was printed at 75% scale, and the clearances were still good, but I wouldn't go smaller.

Screwball Puzzle

A nearly complete redesign of the famous q tip crossbow.

If anyone knows who is the actual original designer, I would like to give appropreate credit.

There is a thin line of support in the barrel part to break off, so you don't need any supports.

Fix the trigger with a M2.5 bolt and nut or widen the holes in the slicer to 3mm if you don't have M2.5s at hand. 😬

Use 2 common hair clips as bow. They should fit tightly into the slots without being glued.

Knit a nylon thread into the holes of the clips with a length that allows for some tension.

The rear sight can just be put into the corresponding hole, maybe with a drop of glue.

Pull back the nylon thread behind the lock and you are ready to shoot.

Place a glider in the barrel part right in front of the tensioned nylon thread and center the airplane's tail with the rear sight.

Hold level,

Let it fly!

**3D print settings**
Print in 0.2mm layer height or finer
No supports, there is a strip of support in the barrel part that shoukd be sufficient.

First time posting something I've made, hopefully I've done it all correctly.

 PlayStation Portal just came out and haven't found anything I really liked to set it on, especially when charging. I'm no good with CAD stuff, so I was looking for something I liked. I found a tablet stand made by SpouTT-DeSigN https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5234784 that was close to what I was looking for so I modified it to suit my needs. Made it wider, made the base all around larger(paranoid about it being top heavy with the Portal on there), shortened the top just a bit to clear the larger portion of the back, and made an opening in the back to give room for the charging cable and the 3.5mm aux cord. All in all I'm pretty happy with it considering my lack of knowledge around this, so let me know how I did and hope someone else gets some use out of this!

Candy Ornament Card Colored .3MF

Replacement battery cover for Xbox Series X/S controllers.  It may also fit Xbox One controllers but has not been tested.  I printed using PLA on the Prusa i3 MK3 and couldn't be happier with the results!

After testing the first version, which is as close to an exact replica to the original part as possible, I found that the printed part lacked the textured feel of the original.  So, I made a second version with some texture on the top surface to help slide the cover on and off.  I also use a rechargeable battery docking station, so, of course, I made a third version with a cutout for charging the batteries.

I couldn't stop there, so I also made a selection of custom logo versions with options like Avengers, Overwatch, Witcher, and more!  If you're interested in any other custom logos, just give me a shout!

**Printing Tips**
The model comes with a “wall” surrounding the part to help with stability as it prints, so make sure that the print is oriented with the open ends of the rectangular "wall" pointing vertically.

I also highly recommend the following slicer settings to help with a clean print and ease of support removal:

- 0.2mm layer height
- Outer and inner brim - you decide the width but I used 4mm and it worked well
- Support material: everywhere, grid style, XY separation of 100% (i.e. same as nozzle diameter), increase pattern spacing (4mm spacing worked well for me)
