The word “inukshuk” means “in the likeness of a human.” For generations, Inuit have been creating these impressive stone markers on the vast Arctic landscape. Inukshuks serve several functions, including guiding travellers, warning of danger, assisting hunters and marking places of reverence.

Each of the 25 models in the download is unique, with subtle differences in stone size and position. Vary the scale slightly in your slicer to add more uniqueness.

Download includes a 4 x 4 matrix of 15cm x 15cm tiles, allowing you to panel a 60cm x 60cm wall section at original scale. 

There is a “Base” and “Accent” file for each of the 16 tiles. For single colour prints, use the “Base” file only. Dual colour prints can add the “Accent” file. Print the “Accent” file in glow-in-the-dark filament for a real Northern Lights vibe!

All “Base” tiles have a number and letter label on the back to make it easier to tile and mount them properly. From the upper-left corner, rows are numbered 1-4, and columns are indicated with letters A-D. 
The models pictured are tiles 1A and 1B, showing examples of dual colour prints with glow-in the-dark “Accents” on dark and light “Base” backgrounds.

At original scale, tiles are approximately 4mm deep to minimize material needed. They can be scaled up in your slicer to create deeper contours.

Discover my Moon Night Light, crafted with attention to detail for a serene and realistic moonlit ambiance!

Here's your guide to printing it, but remember, you'll need to buy a lamp socket and a bulb separately.

Moon (the shade):
Print it solid with no supports to maintain the delicate lunar surface details. Set the layer height at 0.2mm and the width at 0.4mm. Use concentric infill at 100%, or alternatively, set the wall thickness to about 100mm, which I find gives the best representation of the moon's surface. I'll upload the Cura Profile I used for printing. Feel free to import it, but ensure the layer width and height match, as they sometimes import inaccurately.

Plate and Cylinder:
These components are straightforward to print with any preferred profile and do not need supports.

Assembly:
Refer to the last image for the internal arrangement. The cylinder can be gently compressed to fit into the plate's hole.

Common Problems and Solutions:
Issue with Slicing the Moon Model: If you encounter a slicing error, slightly scale the model up, say to 100.1%, and try slicing again. Plate Doesn't Fit: If the plate isn't fitting properly, adjust its scale in the X and Y directions until it fits your needs.

Hey,

Excited to unveil my Moon Ceiling Lamp, an ode to our celestial companion, meticulously designed for a stellar experience!

Here's your guide to 3D printing this lunar marvel, along with a list of additional items you'll need: a lamp socket, a bulb, screws with a diameter of 6-8mm, appropriate wall plugs ("dübel" in German), or ceiling glue suitable for mounting.

Moon (the shade):

    Print it solid with no supports to capture the moon's craters and highlands.
    Set the layer height at 0.2mm and width at 0.4mm for a detailed finish.
    Use a concentric infill at 100%, or opt for a wall thickness of about 100mm for a similar effect, which is my method of choice.
    The Cura Profile for printing will be provided. Import it, but ensure the layer dimensions are accurate post-import.

Plate and Cylinder:

    These can be printed using any profile of your choice and do not need supports.

Assembly:

    Check the last image for guidance on assembly. The cylinder is designed to be compressed slightly for a snug fit into the plate.

For ceiling attachment, you will need:

    3 screws of 6-8mm diameter, along with corresponding wall plugs ("dübel").
    Alternatively, for a no-drill option, you can use a strong ceiling glue to secure the plate.
