IKEA RIGGA TRIPLE HOOK

I've always liked the IKEA RIGGA clothes rack, but one thing bothered me - the fact that the space below the hanging clothes is usually left unused. The vertical tubes, however, are sturdy enough to carry additional loads, so I designed a threaded triple hook that makes better use of that space.

The hook features a three-sided design and is secured by tightening the top cap. As it tightens, the TPU collet compresses around the tube, creating a very strong grip without permanently modifying the rack. Once installed, it can safely support surprisingly heavy loads.

Assembly instructions: Print all parts. Insert the TPU collet into the bottom hook body. Thread the top cap on loosely—one full turn is enough. Remove the top horizontal bar from the IKEA RIGGA rack. Slide the pre-assembled hook onto one of the vertical tubes. Reinstall the top bar. Position the hook where you want it and tighten the top cap firmly. Remarks: The collet shall be printed from a flexible material. Its elasticity allows it to compress and grip the tube securely when tightened.

While I tested several materials, stiffer filaments such as PLA or PETG don't deform enough to provide a reliable clamp and are therefore I strongly discourage to use them.

I achieved excellent results with Bambu Lab TPU 95A HF. With this material, the grip is so strong that it's actually easier to break the hook itself than to make it slide down the tube after tightening.
