This Teeny Spool can be used to store the remainder of a larger spool, so you can use the original for filament refills. Useful if you often hold on to the tiny last bit of any filament. A small solution for a small problem!

The teeny spool features two halves that screw together securely. Made to hold a standard 82.5mm ID cardboard core, as used by Bambu Lab, The Filament, Polymaker, etc... You can also hold loose filament, but anything more than a few meters risks tangling.

The spool edge is lined with angled holes that securely hold 1.75mm filament to prevent tangling.

For use with AMS, or other systems that hold the filament on the outer edge, print 2 of the Expansion Rails, which snap onto either side of the Teeny Spool.

Printing Guidelines

Settings aren't critical, but I went with these:

  • 0.16mm layer height
  • 'Arachne' Wall Generator
  • Check 'Only one wall on first layer'
  • 2 Wall loops
  • 6 top, 4 bottom solid layers
  • 15% gyroid infill
