Scorcher is an ode to our one beautiful sun and its radiating energy that feeds all life on Earth. The intensity is both glorious and intimidating.

Printing Guidelines

While there are a few pre-scaled sizes included in the download, this artwork can be printed at nearly any size. Simply import one of the files into your slicer and do a uniform scale to your desired size. Then turn off uniform scale and scale the Z dimension back to 1.2mm (minimum). You can use a larger Z height if you want a thicker poster, which may be useful for very large sizes. For example I used a 1.6 mm height for a 600mm tall version (still quite wobbly!).

At the default 1.2mm Z height, split the model or do a filament swap at Z:0.6mm.

Generally 0.16mm layer height works well, but you may get a smoother result with lower layer height.

You can use UHU Putty to mount smaller sizes, or acrylic double-sided tape for larger prints. Add a backing or frame for extra style points! Using a neon filament for the backing color makes for an amazing blacklight poster.

Photographed models were printed using Elegoo Rapid PLA+ Black and White, along with Panchroma Neon Yellow PLA (Amazon) which glows brilliantly under a UV black light!

The 300mm version was printed on the Qidi Plus4 3D Printer (Also on Amazon). The 600mm version was printed on the Elegoo Orangestorm Giga.
