Mario's Last Descent
This idea started from something else, but once I had the eureka moment, I knew it had to be done! The single brick went through multiple variations, including magnets, hinges, and all sorts of locks, but in the end, the simplest design worked best. The tolerance between the pipe and the screw is quite loose, so you shouldn't have any problems with it sliding down smoothly. Once printed you may need to screw it in and out several times to "loosen" it up. One thing to watch out for is the material you use—for example, matte, wood, and sparkly filaments can cause some issues due to friction, so keep that in mind.
No supports are required for any of the parts.
Make sure you print the Pipe with the thick part facing down (Updated orientation from previous version)
If the Pipe Does not slide:
- Make sure you are not using PLA with friction issues like sparky, galaxy and wood filaments.
- Make sure your seam is not causing the issue - try changing position
- Push the pipe in and out LOTS of time - Sometimes it takes time to clear all the tiny particles from the print that prevent if from sliding down smoothly
- Reduce print speed.
- Print the new Brick_Tower_Higher_Tolerance version :)

I just purchased this file and i see there's 2 brick towers, one with high tolerance and than a normal. What's the difference?
It's in the description :) as the file says High tolerance has a.. higher tolerance 😉 Means that there is less friction between the pipe and the tower allowing it to slide down even if your printer is not very tuned
Hahaha. I figured it out plus read the description afterwards 😅 😂 I got it working smoothly so its all good. This design is awesome and hilarious! I also downloaded you're scream ice-cream cup, can't wait too print that tomorrow... any chance you'll do a nun or an "IT" version? Thanks for the response
it's on my list along with some other horror themed designs - can't say when but I'll get to it :)
I have printed the pipe 4 times. Cant get it to slide down by itself. Any suggestions?
It's just one of those prints where you need a really tuned printer in terms of extrusion/wall thickness. I'm adding a tips section here although I had no issues on 3 different printers - And I will release another version with a very light tolerance
hey i had a problem with the pipe going in i have screwed it in and out multiple times i had just one question do i print the pipe upside down like the thick part sticking to the bed and the bottom part facing the printer head
Seems the orientation I provided is not the best - the intention is to print it with the thick part facing down. But it should work either way
