Kylo Ren

Kylo Ren

This Kylo Ren figure is easy to print, requiring no supports, MMU/AMS, or glue and is a blast to assemble! It functions the same as my other BIG BRICK models, which are all derived from my base model: Generic Figure.

Printing Instructions:

  • STLs already in suggested printing orientation
  • No supports needed
  • I would always recommend using a brim if you're not certain about the bed adhesion of any of these parts. In particular, the hands and arms can cause issues if there is poor adhesion.

Filament Used In Pictures

This is a list of the filament I used while making this model. I receive no money from you clicking these links, and there may be better choices. This is just what I had available and what I thought looked good! Hope it helps :)

Required Parts/Tools for Assembly:

  • 3D Printed Parts [Filament]
    • Body
      • 1x - Head [Army Beige]
      • 1x - Torso [Charcoal Black]
      • 1x - Arms (brim may be helpful, connector portions may print uncleanly, this is okay!)[Charcoal Black]
      • 1x - Hands (may be helpful to add a brim)[Charcoal Black]
      • 1x - Waist Assembly [Charcoal Black]
      • 1x - Legs [Charcoal Black]
    • Accessories
      • 1x - Helmet - Black Parts [Charcoal Black]
      • 1x - Helmet - Silver Part (may be helpful to add a small brim as the base is a bit smaller than the largest cross sections) [Silver]
      • 1x - Lightsaber Handle [Charcoal Black]
      • 1x - Lightsaber Blade [True Red]
      • 1x - Cape Template - Full OR Half [Any]
      • 1x - Hood Template - Full OR Half [Any]

  • Tools (ALL OPTIONAL)
    • Super Glue (for holding figure in one position/pose if desired)
    • Small Allen Wrench (to twist on part of waist assembly)

Assembly Instructions:

Each of my BIG BRICK models are built from the same base model and the majority of the assembly is the same for each of them. You can find detailed assembly instructions for my models on that base model's designer post here: Generic Figure. You can find all other instructions relating to this model specifically below. Enjoy!

Helmet: This is a bit simpler helmet assembly than some of my others, but it should be a fun one still! Begin by inserting the black visor into the silver mask piece.

Afterward, slide the black front of the mask onto this silver part. It slides on from the bottom up, at an angle.

Now slide the thin black part of the mask into the bottom of these pieces. It should insert into both of them and lock this whole subassembly together.

This subassembly should now just slide onto the main large black part of the mask from the bottom up, at an angle. It should be a pretty snug fit so that the mask does not ever fall apart once assembled.

Lightsaber: The lightsaber assembly is pretty simple. Insert the two smaller blades into the larger blade to form a ‘t’. Once you've done that, twist that subassembly into the handle.

Cape & Hood: If you have a big enough bed, you can print the full cape & hood templates, or you can print the half versions. If you print the half versions, just make sure when cutting them out of whatever material you choose, you mirror the template along the straight line down the middle. Once you have cut out both pieces, start by mounting the cape first over the neck on the torso. Loop one hole over first, then the second.

IMG_5864 (1).jpgIMG_5865 (1).jpgOnce the cape is on, add the hood as shown. Loop one of the holes from the angled side on first, then the other. Afterward, loop on the two holes from the straight side. After the cape and hood are on, place on the head and then the helmet, then bring the hood up over the helmet.
