Chewbacca

Chewbacca

This Chewbacca figure is easy to print, requiring no supports, MMU/AMS, or glue and is a blast to assemble! It functions the same as my other BIG BRICK models, which are all derived from my base model: Generic Figure.

Printing Instructions:

  • STLs already in suggested printing orientation
  • No supports needed
  • I would always recommend using a brim if you're not certain about the bed adhesion of any of these parts. In particular, the hands and arms can cause issues if there is poor adhesion.

Filament Used In Pictures

This is a list of the filament I used while making this model. I receive no money from you clicking these links, and there may be better choices. This is just what I had available and what I thought looked good! Hope it helps :)

Required Parts/Tools for Assembly:

  • 3D Printed Parts [Filament]
    • Body
      • 1x - Torso [Earth Brown]
      • 1x - Face - Light Part [Wood Brown]
      • 1x - Face - Dark Parts [Earth Brown]
      • 1x - Face - Black Parts [Charcoal Black]
      • 1x - Teeth [Cotton White]
      • 1x - Ammo [Silver]
      • 1x - Arms (brim may be helpful, connector portions may print uncleanly, this is okay!) [Earth Brown]
      • 1x - Hands (may be helpful to add a brim) [Earth Brown]
      • 1x - Waist Assembly [Earth Brown]
      • 1x - Legs [Earth Brown]
      • 1x - Leg Inserts [Wood Brown]
    • Accessories
      • 1x - Crossbow Assembly [Charcoal Black]

  • Tools (ALL OPTIONAL)
    • Super Glue (for holding figure in one position/pose if desired)
    • Small Allen Wrench (to twist on part of waist assembly)

Assembly Instructions:

Each of my BIG BRICK models are built from the same base model and the majority of the assembly is the same for each of them. You can find detailed assembly instructions for my models on that base model's designer post here: Generic Figure. You can find all other instructions relating to this model specifically below. Enjoy!

This model is quite simple compared to some of my other models. Everything just assembles with press fits and is very straightforward! The only part that might get confusing is the ammo, as all the little pieces look very similar, but are not the same heights and are meant for specific slots in the torso. I have laid out the STL file to be in the correct orientation and order to be removed straight from your build plate and assembled into the torso. I would remove the pieces from the build plate and assemble them in the order shown in the photos below.

Could Chewy be shrunk down to about a 5 inch model without causing too many problems putting it together?

Yeah probably! I haven’t done it personally, but I know some people have. Some of the smaller parts on his face and body might become a bit difficult to print though.

As i have version 1 without nose, can you tell me whit what type of black color (pencil) you paint eyes, nose, ...?

Jacob C
BigBricks

You can still download the new version if you have purchased the first version I believe. But if you do want to color it, I typicaly just use a sharpie to color things black. If you join my discord I believe other people may have used other stuff...

Do you have a file that has a center piece for the mouth and nose that inserts into the main face section like the picture shows?

Jacob C

Yes! I just updated the files last night. All the Face -* files have the necessary pieces :)
